FlipFiles.io ("we", "us", "our", "the Site") provides free, browser-based tools for working with images, PDFs, audio and video files. This Privacy Policy explains what information is and isn't collected when you use the Site, how that information is used, and your rights regarding it.

The short version: the files you upload, convert, edit or generate using our tools are processed entirely within your own browser, on your own device. They are never transmitted to, stored on, or accessible by our servers. The sections below explain this in detail, along with information about cookies, advertising, and analytics.

Your Files — Processed Locally, Never Uploaded

Every tool on FlipFiles.io — including image compressors and converters, PDF mergers and editors, audio converters and trimmers, and video resizers and compressors — runs using your browser's own processing capabilities (including standard web technologies such as Canvas, the Web Audio API, and WebAssembly).

This means:

• When you select or drag a file into a tool, that file is read directly by your browser and is not sent over the internet to any FlipFiles.io server.
• Any conversion, compression, editing or generation happens using your device's own processor and memory.
• When you click "Download", the resulting file is created and saved directly by your browser — it does not pass through, or originate from, our servers.
• We have no copy of, and no access to, any file you process using FlipFiles.io. We cannot see, retrieve, restore or share files you work with, because they are never sent to us in the first place.

If you close your browser tab or refresh the page, any files you were working on are gone — we don't retain them, because we never had them.

Information We Do Collect

While your files stay local, some limited, non-identifying technical information is collected as part of operating the Site:

Cookies and Local Storage

FlipFiles.io may use cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) for the following purposes:

• Site functionality — for example, remembering display preferences or counting page visits for our own internal statistics (stored locally in your browser, not on a server).

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some optional site features but will not prevent the core file tools from working, since they don't depend on cookies.

The Site and its tools are general-purpose utilities not directed at children, and since file processing happens locally, no file content is collected from any user regardless of age.

Some pages on FlipFiles.io may link to third-party websites or services (for example, fonts, icon libraries, or the WebAssembly-based processing engines used by certain audio and video tools, which are loaded from content delivery networks). These third parties operate under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. Loading these resources may involve your browser making requests to those third-party domains, separate from any file processing.

Data Security

Because your files are processed locally and never transmitted to or stored on our servers, there is no file data on our end to be exposed in the event of a server-side security incident. We still take reasonable measures to keep the Site itself (the code, pages and assets you load) secure and served over HTTPS.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under data protection laws (such as the GDPR or similar regulations) regarding any personal data collected about you. Since FlipFiles.io does not require accounts, does not collect file contents, and collects only limited technical/analytics data as described above, there is generally very little personal data held about any individual user.
